Gratitude 10-3-2011

Today I'm so incredibly grateful for Tim.  I'm so glad he is nearby and is willing to drop everything to come and comfort me when I get bad news.  I'm grateful that he offers to cancel his vacation to make sure I have the support I need.  I don't need that, but I love that he was willing to give it up in case I did.  I love him so much.

-Loving the pumpkin spice lattes at Starbucks right now, especially when I'm using my knitted coffee sleeve in one of my favorite yarns.

-I love Sundays at the dog park.  My swimming buddies and the beautiful sunflowers everywhere were exactly what I needed!

-I'm grateful for the recent desire I have to cook. I've been in a crazy slump where I don't want to do anything when I get home, especially cook and clean. Even doing some of my favorite hobbies like knitting and reading have fallen by the wayside. So here's a quick iPhone snapshot of one of our meals this weekend. Chicken, beets from the farmers market (I don't remember the variety) and sweet corn (also from the farmers market). So delicious! It made me happy to eat it and happy that I cooked it.

-Today I am grateful Tim drove me to work, because then I could wear a fun pair of shoes I don't normally wear to work because they pinch my toes a bit if I walk around too much.

-I love these flowers in the koi pond outside of work. Every time I walk by them I get a smile on my face. It's just this beautiful shock of color in my otherwise gray life.

I loved having a photoshoot with Tim earlier this week to take pictures for my ravelry page. He's awesome!

I also love my China Glaze crackle nail polish. I didn't do the best job, but this is pretty awesome for a first attempt!

-I'm grateful for a husband who brings me flowers for no reason except that he loves me. It absolutely make my day. He brought me this beautiful bouquet last week and they are still beautiful and make me smile every time I walk into my office.

- I love a slow Saturday morning. This morning a woodpecker started tapping away and woke us up. But Tim got a nice, big fire going to smoke it out and voila - morning coffee by the fire.

- I'm also loving the instagram app for my phone. It's so fun to play around with effects on otherwise boring pictures.

-I'm grateful for the opportunity I've had through work to go to this training.

-I'm loving the Tazo Wild Orange Blossom tea they have at the training. I need some of this stuff at home!

-I cleaned off my desk yesterday. It feels so good to not have stacks of papers lying around. I feel so much better organized.


-I'm loving this new Wet 'n Wild nail polish called Gray's Anatomy. (It got this pic of it from my favorite nail polish/beauty blogger - Scrangie.) It looks gray in natural light. It looks like lilac in artificial light. And each types of light it has an awesome green duochrome effect. It's mesmerizing! I'll definitely be wearing this all spring and summer.

-My family. I'm so grateful for all the support they show me. I love you guys!

-I am really loving my new iPhone case. It's so bright and happy!

-Poor Madds is feeling under the weather right now with a minor case of kennel cough. But this means she is extra snuggly and I'm loving all the snuggle time we're having with her right now.

-Knitting. I'm so glad I have this hobby. I have some awesome things just waiting to be made. I love it!

-I love the sunshine that bursts through my office window in the late afternoons in winter. It's like the sun has gone nova and I get to bask in it for a little while. It really helps on a stressful and long day like today.

-After a couple of crazy days at work (6 hours of meetings yesterday and 5 hours of meetings today), I am grateful that I have a job. I know others are not as lucky.

-My cute new work jacket that only cost $5 at Target. It made me look good today for an important meeting.

-Half a cinnamon role for breakfast, a whole cinnamon role for lunch and a sensible dinner. Too bad that's not a recipe for weight loss. It was definitely a recipe for yummy!

-Naps on Sunday afternoon and going to bed early. I woke up this morning and didn't have to hit snooze five times!

-All you can eat pancakes at IHOP.
